Before Your Appointment
Prepare for your treatment:
Following these guidelines helps minimize irritation, reduce bruising, and ensure the safest and most effective results.
If you take prescription medications, have a medical condition, or are unsure whether something applies to you, please contact us before your appointment.
General Guidelines
Avoid for 5-7 days before treatment unless medically necessary
• ibuprofen
• naproxen
• aspirin
• fish oil / omega-3 supplements
• vitamin E
• ginkgo, garlic, ginseng, St. John’s wort
• alcohol for 24 hours prior
These may increase bruising and bleeding.
Please arrive with:
• clean skin
• no active sunburn or irritation
• no active infections or cold sores in the treatment area
Notify us of any changes in medications or health history prior to treatment.
Please contact us if you have:
• a cold sore outbreak or history of cold sores when treating near the mouth
• active illness or fever
• skin infection, rash, or open wound in the treatment area
• recent sunburn
• recent dental work (for filler patients)
• pregnancy or possibility of pregnancy
Treatments may need to be postponed or modified to ensure safety and optimal results.
If you are prone to cold sores:
Treatments around the mouth (including injectables and energy-based treatments) can trigger an outbreak.
If you have a history of cold sores, please notify us prior to your appointment. Preventive medication may be recommended.

Energy-Based Treatments
4 weeks before:
• avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, spray tans, and self-tanner
• avoid other laser or resurfacing treatments in the area
• daily SPF 30–50 is required
1-2 weeks before:
• avoid waxing, threading, depilatories, or aggressive exfoliation
• avoid chemical peels or treatments that may irritate the skin
5-7 days before:
• stop retinol, tretinoin, exfoliating acids, and brightening agents
Day of treatment:
• arrive with clean skin
• no makeup, lotion, sunscreen, or self-tanner on the treatment area

Laser Hair Removal (Diolaze)
4 weeks before:
• avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, spray tans, and self-tanner
• avoid other laser or resurfacing treatments in the area
2 weeks before:
• avoid waxing, threading, or depilatories
• shaving is allowed and encouraged
24-48 hours before:
• shave the treatment area (clean shave, no stubble)
• avoid lotions, oils, deodorant, or makeup
Day of treatment:
• arrive with clean skin
• no makeup, lotion, oils, deodorant on the treatment area
Hair must be present in the follicle for treatment to be effective.
Injectable Treatments
3-5 days before:
• avoid retinoids in the treatment area
• avoid waxing, threading, or aggressive exfoliation
Day of treatment:
• eat normally and stay hydrated
• avoid alcohol for 24 hours
• avoid strenuous exercise immediately before treatment
Bruising varies by individual. Following pre-care guidelines helps reduce risk.

Appointment & Cancellation Policy
Appointments are reserved specifically for you.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance so we may offer the time to another patient.
Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice or missed appointments may be subject to a cancellation fee.
Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may require prepayment to schedule future visits.
Late arrivals: If you arrive to your appointment more than 10 minutes past the originally scheduled time, we may require you to reschedule to avoid impacting other patients’ appointments. We want to ensure great care to you, and everyone we treat.
